So I succumbed to wordplay in today's title (my other options were "The Petch and The Pretties"and "Petchy's Pechays", so consider this one the best). Doesn't matter. Dizzy from days of revising, re-revising, printing, reprinting, clearing, re-clearing. Acid isn't quite as lively as usual (Acid to Tony, with much anxiety: My hair is flat today!!!). Bia is stress-munching on umami-laden Okeji tempura chips. Maan is mourning the death of BBDO-ish one-question lines ("Hungry?", "Tired?", "Tangles?", etc.). Janais is still waiting for her 208th print out. Chin is just about ready to shout, "Have mercy on the treeeeeeeeessssssss!!!" the next time The Petchy writes on her compre. And my desk is about as organized as a grown man's untrimmed pubes.
On the other hand, working with The Petchy has already been quite a learning experience. A crash course in comedy-writing for Cannes in under one week. And for a live brief. Not bad for Bia and Acid, going into the Kidlat Young Creatives' Competition. And considering The Petchy believes this particular campaign could win for Saatchi Manila a Lion, then nope, it certainly ain't bad for the Girls' Team. As my girls and I go about our merry way, hopping, skipping and playing in this happy little world we call Advertising, the Lord continues to send us wonderful things and fantastic opportunities to blog about each day - well, apart from our prettiness, of course, which finds itself absent today. In our Petch-inflicted stress, we had all forgotten the Photo of the Day. Just as well, because my eye is still red and my hairstrands kinda look like a world war has descended upon them.
Tomorrow, the Pretties will return.
